Letter dated 1Mar2012

[Dear friends and family, Weston arrived this morning in Madrid! He sounded very excited when we spoke with him from the Atlanta Airport. I am looking forward to receiving some pictures that I can post in a blog in the near future! I hope this letter finds you well and happy. Continue to send any replies as a reply to this letter -- and I will forward it to Weston. Much love, Weston's editor - BWS] Dear Family, I was blessed to travel to Madrid on time and actually a little bit earlier than what was expected. I enjoyed getting to call you yesterday and I wish I could have talked for longer, but alas, I had to catch my flight from Atlanta to Madrid. And speaking of which, both flights (the first being from Salt Lake City to Atlanta, the second then to Madrid) were incredibly fun and amazing! I was with 11 other missionaries in the first flight and we talked the entire time and I also had some time to write my own personal thoughts into my journal and the second flight was even better! It was an 8 hour flight and by the time we arrived in Madrid it was 9am, so to say the least I´m a little bit tired now... (it´s about 4:30 en la mañana. Also, to Daniel, please don´t type Espanyol anymore, mi corazon is filled with much pain whenever I read that so if you have to use it, just swich the keyboard to Spanish and then find the ñ. Por favor y gracias). Oh, but Madrid is better than anything I could have expected. The building here is the Madrid MTC (o CCM en Español) and we share the same square as the Madrid Temple, which is one of the most beautiful temples I have ever seen. I´m definitely going to be taking lots of pictures on PDay [Preparation Day] which is going to also remain on Thursdays (jueves Daniel, por favor). And as for any letters or DEARELDERS that might be sent to Provo and I did not recieve, I´m not sure if or when I´ll recieve them but I will get a hold of the mission address soon so that you can share that with people, dad. [I will send that out when I find it!] I was able to get an hour nap earlier today and we had Spanish tacos for lunch (by the way, the rice here is amazing!) and they had these crazy European ice cream bars that were super creamy and amazing! I´ll send you a box of them in an icebox! BROMA! Today is a day for us to relax and the teachers are speaking more English today for us because we are all so exhausted but we will be immersed in Spanish tomorrow and the following days. We also have more freedom here and can go down to the main part of Madrid on Pday and see all the amazing buildings which is west of us. Also, there will be plenty of pictures of those as well. I wish you could all see what I´ve seen on my first day and I already know for a fact that I´m going to be coming back to Spain in the future. And one thing that I am not sure I have said or not, but here in Spain they talk with a lisp on the soft C´s and Z´s so in the future, watch out for my awesome Royal Spanish accent! Also, according to the cover of USA Today at the airport, congragulations to Mitt in Michigan. I figured I´d let you know I saw that so you don´t have to update me with that (Daniel). Os amo, Élder Alejandro Weston Schindler Elder Alexander Weston Schindler
